Masjid Kg Laut, Nilam Puri

Masjid Kg Laut in Nilam Puri is believed to be the oldest surviving mosque in Malaysia. Built in the 18th century entirely without a single nail, the mosque is still in use today.

Welly - Nilam Puri is a place in Kelantan also.. close to Kota Bharu.

The 400 ~ 500 yrs old Kampung Laut Mosque in Nilam Puri is in fact a restored version of the original one which originated from Kampung Laut, Jajahan Tumpat, Kelantan, some 20km from Nilam Puri. It was heavily damaged by a big flood and soil erosion in the 1960s which made it to be moved further inland by the government.

Though the mosque retains its original shape and structure, most of the original parts had been replaced during its restoration works ( sources claimed that the original parts were damaged due to the flood but I believed the real reason was lack of proper restoration know-how ).
